The Brock Foundation

The Brock Foundation Inc. (TBF) began in 1995, under the leadership of Tony Brock, a United States Professional Tennis Association Coaching Professional. The goal of TBF is to give youth who may not have a tennis court in their neighborhood opportunities to learn and play tennis. Our first year 1996 the foundation provided over thirty students in our summer tennis program at Forest Park Tennis Courts. That same winter we created six elementary after-school tennis program using school gymnasium's. In 1997 the United States Tennis Association (Midwest Section) recruited Tony Brock as a Community Development Coordinator. In 1998 Brock was recruited to Los Angeles, California, to lead the Arthur Ashe Safe Passage Tennis Program which provided tennis to youth in the inner city LA area. Funded by the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce, the program provided instructional tennis for youth of all backgrounds, many of whom went on to garner college scholarships to pursue higher education and some to play professionally. All students prospered from having a Safe Passage Tennis Program after-school to learn, have fun and play tennis. Tony Brock led the program for sixteen years from 1998-2014. Eryn Cayetano started in Safe Passage Tennis at age 7 and now stars for University of Southern California Women's Tennis Team and exemplifies what community public tennis can foster given opportunities to learn, play and train.
